# How do I view an inference that has been completed?

## **Learn how to view inferences containing multiple layers with a matte overlay.**

To view an inference that has been initiated, follow the steps below:

1. **Select shot: **Select the shot, then choose the layer for which you want to view the generated inference.
2. **Preview:** A matte overlay appears on the footage for the selected layer. You can preview the shot by pressing the 'Play' button located below the shot's timeline.
